Equalization Factor (National Content State Definitions)
Some areas allow an equalization factor to make up for inequalities in their jurisdiction. For example: If one area of the state is 10% lower with regards to assessments, then an equalization factor of 110 percent is added when computing for taxes. Property value is assessed at $100,000. The assessor would take the assessed value of $100,000 x 1.10 = $110,000.
